Addiction Interventions

What if things can actually change?

We take the lead and will walk with you through the entire process.

We believe the experience of an addiction intervention is as individualized as you and your loved one are.  Nobody is the same and we want to honor those differences.  Not only will we begin to plan the actual intervention but we will be doing a lot of behind the scenes work for your loved one.  We will match their addiction recovery and treatment needs to some of their individual preferences to improve outcomes.  We also believe that not all treatment centers are created equal so it is our passion to find the ones that will offer the most opportunity for your loved one to heal.

We will take the lead, but will also need some assistance from you.  After all it’s your loved one we are all helping.  But fear not, you will never be alone in the process as we will walk with you through the whole thing.

You’re never alone in the process.

Preparation is key

From the moment we confirm the commitment to the intervention, the planning begins.

We will be asking a lot of questions about your loved one.  Some of those include physical health issues and mental health issues.  We will also be planning who will attend.  We have a very specific selection process that helps to increase a positive outcome.  We assign some valuable homework which will be paramount for the day of the intervention.  During this time communication is wide open.  You can call us, ask questions, etc.  We don’t mind as this is your loved one we are preparing for.

Not all rehabs are created equal.  Your loved one is a unique individual and choosing a rehab will be focused on those unique needs

During preparation we will have gathered as much information about your loved one as possible.  We will also be focusing in on what they like to do and include some hobbies that they once loved.  We will also be asking about pay sources such as insurance benefits if available. Though we can’t always make an exact match we do our best to fit the person to the rehabilitation center and not the other way around.  We know that ages and stages of life are all different so it would not make sense to put a 20 year old heroin addict with a 56 year old CEO alcoholic would it?  Focusing on best outcome is key.

The family will ultimately be putting the seal of approval on the rehab they believe will be the best fit.  We will do the leg work on providing several viable options and present them to you.  However, it is always your decision on what you feel is right.

Choosing a rehab

Transportation

Transportation can be a collaborative effort, or solely our responsibilty, you decide.

There is not one single way to transport your loved one to rehab.  However, transport is usually immediate, well planned and swiftly executed after the intervention.  We can do the transport in it’s entirely, we can enlist the help of particularly selected friends or family or we can combine efforts.  The transportation is key but will be decided and discussed as soon as the planning begins.

The intervention is over.
There are typically two outcomes.  The first is that they are on the way to rehab, the second is that they refused to go.  Either way, the intervention is far from over.

No matter the outcome, the family has work to do after the intervention.  Whether your loved one went to rehab or did not go, the intervention is not over.

Family members have boundaries to keep, communication to learn and a new lifestyle to live.  This is just as important, sometimes more important, than the work the loved one is doing in rehab.  If your loved one chose  not to go to rehab, you still have the same work to do.  This is why with interventions, we automatically include some family coaching after the intervention is completed.
