We are Dr. Teralyn and Recovery Coach Steve! We are a married couple in recovery and have 3 awesome kids! We have teamed up to provide you the most cutting edge professional addiction intervention and recovery services available in the United States. Though we are locally practicing in Menasha, WI we are positioned to travel nationwide for professional addiction interventions. Recovery coaching services can be provided from a distance via phone or internet platforms or in person in the Wisconsin Fox Valley.

What makes us different?

Well, for starters Recovery Coach Steve has been through the struggles of recovery and is now professionally trained to help others get there too. He has over 25 years of alcohol sobriety under his belt and is positioned to help you get clean and stay sober. Dr. Teralyn understands the challenges of living with a spouse in recovery and has spent her career researching addiction, couples in addiction, educating others about addiction and practicing addiction counseling. She has transitioned her addiction therapy practice to professional recovery coaching and professional addiction intervention services.

Coach Steve and Dr. Teralyn have been trained by and works closely training others with a prominent celebrity recovery professional. Additionally Dr. Teralyn has performed psychological evaluations for a major television network show.

Meet Recovery Coach Steve

I’d like to start by telling you what inspired me to become a Professional Addiction Interventionist and a Recovery/Sober Coach.
Firstly, sobriety is the only way to go. I know this because I have been in long term addiction recovery (23+ years) and have lived the destruction of addiction in my own life. More importantly, I have lived in the success of sobriety. I am excited to be the conductor of your journey, leading you into life without alcohol.

My addiction of choice was alcohol and I often struggled with the question, “Do I have a drinking problem?” I was in denial for many years despite my life imploding around me. It took me a while to come to terms and accept that alcohol was the common denominator to many of my problems.

I needed to make a BIG change and to stop drinking, and that is what I did!

After a year without alcohol I met my wife. She and I set out on a journey of building a great family together and I realized that sober living has great rewards! Fast forward 25+ years and here I am building a practice helping others, together. I realize now that she was my Recovery Coach when that term didn’t even exist.

If you would have asked me 20+ years ago where I would be today, I never would have thought my story would turn out like this! I am helping people like you who are in the same spot I was in. I am providing strength-based recovery coaching and interventions to get you going on your own sober path.

Meet Dr. Teralyn

Over Twenty years ago I married the person that I loved (Coach Steve) and became a step-mom in one day! I’ve always wanted to be married & I was so happy to have a new family. I quickly realized that I was completely unprepared for this! All the ins and outs of step-parenting made me feel exhausted & confused. Combine that with understanding what it meant to have a spouse in recovery and I was spinning! We then had 2 more children and I had to figure things out fast! I know the step-parent struggle and parenting struggles. My training and education as well as my life experiences have taught me that it doesn’t have to be hard! We can make it easier!

I Help Tackle Mental Health & Addiction Problems…Naturally!

In another twist, a few years ago I fell in love with holistic mental health and addiction treatment. You will find me continuously learning about how the body can heal itself through proper nutrient and neuro-nutrient therapy. I now practice what I like to call ‘Functional Psychology’. I can take a deep dive into your genetic code, neurotransmitter levels and adrenal function. We can combine this with therapy (in Wisconsin) or recovery coaching nationwide.

What I have done as a functional psychology pro….

Over the past 25 years I have worked with families, and have helped people to strengthen and develop better relationships, as an individual or as a couple. I also worked for over a decade as a counselor. I’ve had great success facilitating change and deeper personal understanding with clients of all ages. My focus as a counselor is on helping my clients effectively tackle the challenges of their lives using an approach of practical feedback, compassion and personal awareness.

My approach as a functional psychology pro is understanding the physiology of what is happening in your brain. It’s pretty complicated and deserves thorough testing for understanding. I believe I am changing how people who struggle with mental health issues view themselves and view the help that is available to them.

I also teach psychology and early childhood courses at several colleges and Universities. Most recently I have been named faculty of a prestigious addiction academy and work alongside a celebrity recovery professional. I have also worked with a major television network performing psychological evaluations for prospective talent.
